We recently wrote a blog about healthy meal ideas to try for the Fourth of July, but since summer is still in full swing and people across the country are still enjoying time with their grills, we thought maybe we’d bring you fine folks a few more recipes that are sure to delight your taste buds. Our recipes today are so simple that anyone can make them and they come straight from your favorite primary care providers at Medics USA.
So without further ado, let’s dive into a simple recipe that’s sure to please the whole family!
Chicken Skewers
Making chicken on the grill can sometimes be an exercise in frustration, but with today’s recipe, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll be making delicious, moist, flavorful chicken in no time at all. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Boneless, skinless chicken breast chopped into bite size pieces
- Buffalo sauce
- Broccoli florets
- Zucchini chopped into bite size pieces
All this recipe requires is that you cover the chicken, broccoli, and zucchini chunks in buffalo sauce, skewer them up, and then throw them on the grill. It’s incredibly simple to prepare and it will be done in no time flat. With the chicken cut into smaller pieces, you don’t have to cook it for as long.
After all, dry chicken is pretty much the worst thing on the face of the planet. This combination, although simple, is absolutely packed with flavor. Throw it on a grill over medium high heat and cook until the chicken is done which should take anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes depending on your grill. Remember to turn often and check your chicken with a thermometer before consuming. Your goal is for the chicken to be 165 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure that it’s fully cooked through.
Grilled Asparagus
The perfect side dish for this recipe is simple grilled asparagus. To prepare, all you have to do is add your asparagus to a tin foil bag along with some butter, salt, and pepper and seal it tightly. Throw it directly over the heat on your grill and give it about 15 minutes to cook through.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tying it All Together
To keep with the healthy theme of the meal, ditch the sugary soda and opt for a nice flavored sparkling water. This is a meal that’s easy to make that everyone in the family will enjoy! Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce you use to suit your family’s needs and you’re pretty much guaranteed that there will be smiles on each and every face in your home when you serve this meal. It really is as simple as that!
