At the beginning of August, the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA) announced an exciting new campaign designed to encourage Falls Church families to consider their health while getting ready for back-to-school activities!
“There is no way for a family to predict the future, but having a plan in place can make emergency and immediate medical needs less stressful when they arise,” said Steve Sellars, MBA, President of the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA). “Most urgent care centers are equipped to provide a wide-array of on-the-spot services for a variety of minor illnesses and injuries when families need it most.”
In addition to the fun hashtag, UCAOA created a handy to-do list that will help to ensure you’re doing everything you can to keep your Falls Church family healthy during the 2016-17 school year.
In order to be “Urgent Care Prepared” families should:
- Visit a Falls Church urgent care to get vaccinations and school physicals. You don’t want to show up on the first day of class without the proper paperwork proving these things have been done!
- Identify the closest urgent care to your home and school. If illness or injury strikes during the school day or on the weekends, you want to keep your driving time to a minimum. Be sure to take note of early/late/weekend hours!
- Confirm that urgent care centers in your immediate neighborhood accept your insurance. You don’t want to bring in a sick or injured child, only to realize that you have to get back in the car because your insurance isn’t accepted.
